Labor Day Party at the Stullers'

Yesterday we went to G.J. and Annette's annual Labor Day party. This year we camped out for the first time, and were joined by at least 9 other families that set up camp all around the pond. G.J. even has camp sites set up complete with electrical boxes. A couple families had pop-up campers, but most of us had tents.

The kids had a blast playing in the pond and trampoline. They spent most of the day going back and forth between the two. Sam had to wear a life jacket since the pond is bigger and deeper than a pool - but with it he was able to swim anywhere. The pond has a raft in the center on which guests can play 4-square, a paddle boat, and a dock with a diving board. The Stullers also have a basement that is like an arcade, complete with a pool table, Foosball table, air hockey table, and even Skeeball.

Ben and I had plenty of time to sit and visit with friends, and even do some swimming and playing ourselves. O.K., that was mostly Ben. I really spent most of my time sitting and talking, or playing with the baby (Elizabeth) or toddler (Elliott).

We left around noon today (Sunday), after Ben played Ultimate Frisbee and the kids had three more hours of swimming and jumping. We are exhausted. The kids slept pretty well in the tent, but thanks to a slow leak in our air mattress Ben and I didn't get much sleep ourselves.

The pictures are of Sam on the teeter totter with Mark Nester, and Maria playing 4-square on the raft with other kids.
